2011 Annual Team Reports
UNDER 6 TEAM REPORT
It was a great first season for these little guys and gals. We had ten weekly fixtures and a round robin carnival of FOUR games in the one day to end the season.  Every team member had a turn at being the player of the match, each receiving a McDonald’s encouragement award.  Jappy was the official coach assisted by Anthony, Lisa was the manager assisted by anyone and everyone. Thank-you to all the parents who helped throughout the season at raffle nights, team BBQ days and helping on our sideline, these opportunities for our children would not be possible without your support.  A special mention and big thank-you to the Mazzoni family as the 2011 under six team was proudly sponsored by :-
MAZZONI PLANT HIRE

The Players:

No. 1- Tali Karklis – Games 14, Tackles 112, Runs 64, Tries 10. A feisty little player on the field (sometimes a little too feisty, but nothing a stern talk from Tony Brown didn’t fix).  Strong and consistent in defence from the first game. His attacking skills improved throughout the season as more experience and confidence was gained.  Tali was at every game this season.
No. 2 – Mercedeiz McPherson-Tootell – Games 13, Tackles 15, Runs 21. A very quiet but consistent member of our team,  it was great to see Mercedeiz build her skills and confidence as the season progressed.  She was always there to assist her team members in defence, her attacking skills were consistent from game 1.
No 3. – Miah Byers – Games 12, Tackles 72, Runs 36, Tries 1. Miah joined us in game 3, as her confidence grew, so too did her stats.  By the end of the season her tackle count was regularly topping the tally.  It was great to see Miah score her first try in our second last weekly fixture as her great attacking skills brought her close so many times.
No 4. -  Harlan Lawlor – Games 10, Tackles 17, Runs 33, Tries 1. Harlan is definitelyone of the quietest members of our team.  With more game confidence Harlan will be a great footballer.  We have seen his skills in training and he has it.  With his first try towards the end of the season we hoped his confidence would grow.
No 5. – Tyrese Coghill – Games 14 , Runs 45, Tries 16. A great, all round footy player.  Tyrese didn’t miss a game. Our highest try scorer for the season, he is so fast and brilliant at stepping around the opposition.  His little frame certainly doesn’t stop him from slinging those bigger boys around in a tackle either.
No 6 – Cazna Denham – Games 14, Tackles 42, Runs 41, Tries 5. From the first game of the season Cazna was showing the boys how it’s done, scoring the first try and pulling off some big tackles. She lost a little of that early season confidence when a wobbly tooth fell out during a game, leaving her with a mouth full of blood.  It didn’t stop her from missing a game and it wasn’t long before she was playing at her best again.
No. 7 – Robert Griffen- Games 10, Tackles 26, Runs 34, Tries 2.  One of smallest and quietest team members but don’t let that fool you, as Robert knows how to play footy.  Not afraid to tackle and able to step around the opposition, Robert is a valuable member of the team.
No 8 – Kauri Christie – Games 10, Tackles 31, Runs 25, Tries 2.  Kauri joined us in our fourth fixture game. One of the little guys and a little shy at first, but by the end of the season he was keeping up with the best of them.  With each game his confidence grew as did his tackle count, it was great to see Kauri go over the line before the season ended.
No. 9 – Darren Mazzoni – Games 12, Tackles 76, Runs 49, Tries 6.  For a little guy Darren sure can tackle, never giving up and chasing down the opposition right to the line. He is awesome in attack also. A great sportsman, he knows how to both win and lose.
No. 10 – Bailey James – Games 14, Tackles 59, Runs 46, Tries 11.  Bailey played in all the games this season.  One of our top try scorers, his attacking game is all sorted.  Bailey is great at tackling also…. when he wants to!  Bailey was always willing to take his turn on the sideline to share out the game time with all his team mates.
No. 11 – Grace Costelloe – Games 9, Tackles 57, Runs 23, Tries 2.  There were several games during the season where Grace topped the tackle tally.  She is also a strong runner and great at cartwheels up the field too! (Appropriately timed of course….when our team scored a try).

 UNDER 7 TEAM REPORT 2011
Coach - Tom GOVENOR
Manager -  Bridget BEVIN
Assistant Coach/League Safe - Benji TURUWHENUA
Touch Judge - Chad BOREY
Assistant Manger - Mairead TURUWHENUA and Jayme VINSON
We had a wonderful year starting the season with 7 players, with 5 players from Under 6s last year continuing on this year...we had 2 new kids (Tom and Caleb) sign on this year for their first year of Rugby League.  The kids really enjoyed playing the game and it was with great pleasure as a coach i was able to watch the kids develop throughout the season..not only develop in skill but also in attitude and becoming team players.
I know that we don’t keep record of who wins and who loses, but the kids always knew the results of games..and let’s just say we only lost a couple...
We recruited a couple of kids during the year (Dilan and Tyrese) which gave us 9 players, so finally we had a reserve for the game...which ended up being excellent to give players a break throughout the game...Tali joined Under 7s when the Under 6s season finished which boosted us to 10 players, a big thank you to Tali and his Parents Anthony and Lisa for allowing Tali to play in Under 7s...he was a great addition to the team...
towards the end of the year all the kids had become used to being asked to come off the field for a break...it was good finally having a full complement of players as some teams would play their full compliment against our 5 or 6 players until we made the full complement of 8 kids...Our kids showed a lot of Heart against bigger teams and I am so proud of the kids for giving it their all...
A big thank you to Benji, Bridget, Mairead....you 3 have really done above and beyond what you needed to do, with the fundraising, i could always rely on you to assist us with raising money for the Under 7s...All the Under 7s parents you have done a tremendous job with helping out with the fundraising and bringing your children to training and helping out on Game Day with Touch judge, Duty Official, helping me warm the kids up etc.  etc...
Finally a Big THANK YOU to our sponsors...

UNDER 8 TEAM REPORT 2011
THANKS TO
JOHN & DESLEY KING
CLEVELAND TAB
COACH’S REPORT
Well, another year has passed by again. The Under 8’s did it hard this year with no reserves and sometimes 1 less of a player. Well done, only Straddie can do that. It was great to see the players develop as a team throughout the year, which is what a team sport is all about. ( There is no ‘I’ in team).
A huge thanks John and Desley King from the Cleveland TAB for letting us hold a sausage sizzle out the front of the Tab, in which we managed to raise our entire levy required plus extra for the year, and a special thank-you to the parents who gave us a hand throughout the year. Thank-you!
I would also like to say thank-you to Blake for playing a year up and Jasmine for playing even though she was the only girl on the team throughout the year.
THANKS
MARK BROWN

PLAYER’S REPORTS
Brendon Coghill - Best and Fairest- Brendon is such a powerful and strong talented runner and defender. He uses all of his strength to push through the other teams.
Jacob Arthur - Most Consistent Player- Jacob is such a speedy and ready to go runner, he is always the one who constantly makes sure his team is spread out and ready to go. He is also always the first one to be up in the attacking teams faces.
Jasmine Gardiner- Encouragement Award- Throughout this year Jasmine’s confidence has improved so much since she has joined.  She has always tried her best in every run and tackle, great job!
Ethan Brown - Most Consistent Trainer- Ethan has also retained his confidence.  He uses his skills in a great way to find his way to the try-line.
Noah Byers - Most Consistent Defensive Player - Noah’s personality is great, before every game he has a joke or two to share but on the field he is such a great team supporter who loves to share the ball around.
Blake Byers - Most Consistent Attacking Player - Blake is a fun and speedy runner for his size. He is always on time for training and gives support - talking to his team before the game.
Matthew Gannon- Most Improved Player - Matthew always tries his best at every game.  Despite his career of hurting himself he is still such a fantastic and much improved attacking and defending player.
Makai Borey- Most Consistent Trier - Makai is so shy when he is off the field, but when he is playing on the field he is a completely different person. He is a great tackler and a speedy runner.  He has the ability to take down everyone and run straight to the try-line.
Manager’s Report- It has been such a great year, and it has been great meeting you all. I would like to thank-you for paying all your respect to me. I hope you guys do well in the distant future with your football career! You guys have done so much for me to make my job easier and congratulations for putting your 110% into this year’s Stradbroke Island Under 8’s Football Team. Good luck for the years ahead.

UNDER 9 TEAM REPORT 2011
The 2011 season for the U9’s was challenging but enjoyable for the coaches, as the players began the season with different levels of skills and knowledge of the game. Towards the end of the season the players needed more game time to allow for them to develop their skills which had improved from when they first started.
To the parents of the players, thanks for being involved with your child’s developments and support over the footy season.
To the boys and girls who played this year hope to see you all back next year, thanks to Marty, Jamie, Robin and Nicky who all contributed to the teams development at training and the games.
U9’s Team Report
1 Jordan Christie
Bay Islander – It was Jordan’s 1st year playing league and at the beginning of the season he was a bit hesitant, but then he started to get more involved as the season went on. Toward the end of the season it was good to see he had developed good skills.
15 Games; Tackles 124 (Avg per game 8.3); Runs 122 (Avg per game 8.1)
2 Samuel Delaney-Law
Mainlander – Samuel didn’t realize how fast he was until you yelled at him to run and then he took off and they couldn’t catch him. Played well all season
15 Games; Tackles 140 (Avg per game 9.3); Runs 99 (Avg per game 6.6)
3 Ethan Miethke

15 Games; Tackles 127 (Avg per game 8.5); Runs 87 (Avg per game 5.8)
4 Reo Wall
Stradbroke Islander - Reo showed he had good skills and only needed some adjustments to his game, he doesn’t realise he can run fast and was hard to tackle when he stepped and swerved. This will come over time
14 Games; Tackles 130 (Avg per game 9.3); Runs 92 (Avg per game 6.6)
5 Navrin Karklis
Stradbroke Islander – Navrin has good skills in attack and defence and with more game time and little adjustments to his skills over time he will do well in league. 6 Allan Jones
Mainlander – Allan has good skills in attack and defence and with more game time and little adjustments to his skills over time he will do well in league. COACHES REPORT:
What a great season for the Under 11’s this year, we brought home the Chairman’s Trophy and the Grand Final!  At the beginning of the season I asked the kids if they wanted to play for fun or win a Grand Final – they all chose to put in the hard yards to win.  The Chairman’s trophy was a bonus but the Grand Final was the big one, we were also Minor premiers.
Our under 11’s team also has seven Under 10’s and at one stage 7 girls to make up our deadly team.
We had brothers from the bay islands join us this year, some of whom had never played footy before, but put them altogether they made for an awesome side. A big thanks to all the players for putting up with me at training, thanks heaps to Liz, Kim, Col ,Tonia, Kelsey, Amy and Casey for all their help this year. Also a big thanks to our sponsors, hope you sponsor us again next year as we are coming back to win another Grand Final.
MANAGERS REPORT:
I just would like to say how proud I am of all our players for achieving both wins in the Chairman’s Trophy and the Grand Final.  To Corey and all the coaching staff you really did the ground work for our triumphs and you all instilled great sportsmanship and teamwork in our Under 11s.  I really enjoyed being part of this wonderful footy family and hope to see all the players their families and friends support us again in 2012.  Thanks to our wonderful and loyal sponsors we really appreciate your generosity and your support for our team.

Nate is a good player and you can always rely on him to tackle the biggest kid on the field. Nate has played with the Straddie Sharks since under 7’s and is one of the players who are the backbone of the team. He is an “old warhorse” who would keep on battling till the last whistle blew .He was outstanding in the Chairman’s Trophy and the Grand Final. Well done Nate. By Justin

NO.10 – TYRAN ISELIN – GAMES 19, TACKLES 146, HIT-UPS 163, TRIES 14, GOALS 4

NO.11 – RHYS SCHULTZ – GAMES 20, TACKLES 104, HIT-UPS 98, TRIES 5, GOALS 6
Another Bay Island brother, this was also Rhys first year playing for Straddie Sharks.  Rhys played second row. He had the ability to run and step, and a bit of defensive work. Well done and hope to see him play again next year.
NO.12 – SHAREYA DOYLE – GAMES 20, TACKLES 169, HIT-UPS 116, TRIES 7, GOALS 1
Shareya has played great this season. She has scored tries by running straight and easily palming her way through the opposition with her look of determination. She was also a strong defender. It was good to play with Shareya because she was there when you needed her. By Bianca
NO.13 BIANCA STEVENSON–GAMES 21, TACKLES 164, HIT-UPS 112, TRIES 8
Bianca is an intelligent football player.  She is also a very good lock.  I reckon Bianca would be one of the best football players in our team.  Bianca tries hard in training sessions and put her all in when we play the actual game.  She listens to Uncle Corey and really takes in what he says.  She is fair, caring and if someone gets hurt she will help them even if it is a girl or a boy.  That is what I think of Bianca.  By Shareya
NO.14 – JAMAL WARE – GAMES 12, TACKLES 22, HIT-UPS 21, TRIES 1
Another Bay Island brother, this was Jamal’s first year playing for Straddie Sharks.  He has a lot of spirit for a little fella.  He played on the wing most of the time and would come in and have a couple of runs in the centres.  Well done and hope to see him play again next year.
NO.15 TRENT EVERY-GAMES 11, TACKLES 65, HIT-UPS 35, TRIES 1, GOALS 1
This is Trent’s first year also playing for Straddie Sharks. He came from over town to play. NO.19 LYNISE COGHILL - GAMES 19, TACKLES 19, HIT-UPS 13
This was Lynise’s first year of footy and even though she decided she didn’t want to play anymore she still managed to come to most of the games to support her team.  In her position on the wing Lynise surprised us all with some good ball skills and also a few really hard strong tackles.  Lynise is also one of our Under 10 players.  Well done and hope to see her play again next year.
NO.20 NACE TRAIN - GAMES 15, TACKLES 82, HIT-UPS 44
Nace is another Bay Island brother. This was his first year playing for Straddie Sharks. He was a bit shy at first but his confidence was building with each game.   A couple more seasons and he has the potential to develop into a strong player. Well done and hope to see him play again next year.

UNDER 16 TEAM REPORT -  PREMIERS 2011
2011 will be remembered for the year our team finally discovered its potential and a belief in itself.  Our season started promising with 19 players signed on at the start of the year but like most Straddie teams we lost players due to injuries and lack of interest but our core players stuck to their goal and by year’s end found themselves as Minor Premiers.
After losing our 1st semi finals match the team dug in deep for each other and won the Preliminary Final and their berth in the Grand Final versus Beenleigh the team we had lost to 2 weeks before.
On a sunny spring day the boys put together a gutsy game of footy to win the Premiership we so badly wanted in front of a big vocal Straddie crowd 34 to 10.
The boys this year had help from key people,  1st a big thanks must go to our sponsors, thank you for your contribution this year.  To our coaching staff, Co Coach Jason Karklis, Jas brings to the team a great knowledge and passion of the game and he’s one of many reasons this team is successful.  Also a big thanks to Joshy Manteufel for his help this year, Josh did a number of jobs this year – touchy, league safe and taxi driver.  To our Manager Yarrin Brown thank you mate for your help this year you are a top bloke and the team is grateful.  And finally to Kylie and Duane Manteuful a huge thank you to you two this year, Kylie was a big fundraiser for us this year and set up some really fun events for our team.  Kylie and Duane and Amity General Store gave us a ton of stock this year for catering days and other events so again words can’t explain what you mean to the success of our team.
Finally to the Team, thanks for an unforgettable year and like I said to you on Grand Final Day – HOW GOOD DOES IT FEEL to be PREMIERS.   See you all soon.

 Player’s Reports :-
1.      MARK JONES:  Tackles – 122;  Hit Ups – 102;   Tries – 10;  Goals – 28                                     Marky is a popular player and is one of the most liked players on our team.  His performances this year on the field were unreal to watch whether it was making a game breaking run with the ball or making the try saving tackles.  Mark was one of the most consistent players this year and was a big reason for our success.
2.      KEVIN CHILLY:  Tackles – 9;  Hit Ups – 12;  Tris – 1;  Goals – N/A                                  One of the veteran players in the team Kev was one of the players that some days you wanted to choke but on some days wanted to give him high fives.  Kev’s attendance was a bit off this year but when he wanted to play he was a big help to the team.
3.      TRISTAN TEERMAN:  Tackles – 69;   Hit Ups – 136;  Tries – 10;  Goals – N/A          Tristan is a gifted attacking player possessing speed and agility that has turned him into a deadly centre.  His only floor in past years has been his defense but he has been working hard on his tackling and showed in the latter stages of this year that he can back up his attacking with strong defense.
4.      JAKE SLADE:  Tackles – 93;  Hit Ups – 41;  Tries – 7;  Goals – N/A.                                Jake came over from Redlands this year and straight away fitted in well with our style of footy.   Jake is a very good defensive centre that can also attack with the ball.  Jakey was a big reason for our success this year and is also a very like player in the team
5.      MATT CHARLTON:  Tackles – 64;  Hit Ups – 64;  Tries – 3;  Goals – N/A                    Matty continued to improve his game this year and his speed and footwork are huge threats to opposing teams.  A good guy with a great attitude is Matt’s big asset and he was a joy to coach this year.
6.      BRENT MANTEUFEL:  Tackles – 202;  Hit Ups – 60;  Tries – 6;  Goals – N/A                             This year was Brent’s tenth straight year playing for the Straddie Sharks.  Brent’s leadership and playmaking ability is one of the reasons that this year we are Premiers.  A good bloke and I’m happy to call him my mate.
7.      CLINT MANTEUFEL:  Tackles – 234;   Hit Ups – 67;  Tries – 8;  Goals – N/A                              Like his brother this year was Clint’s tenth straight year playing for the Club.   Playing halfback was Clint’s job this year and what a job he did leading us all year.  With his brother Brent they combined to make an awesome half’s combo,  Clint was named Man of the Match in the Grand Final.
8.      NIC SVENSON:  Tackles – 75;  Hit Ups – 67;  Tries – 1;  Goals – N/A                              Nic was only one of two player’s in our team that probably weighed more than 50 kgs which made him a big part of our team playing prop this year.  Nic had a lot of responsibility in the team to get us the tough yards but he handled it great.  Nic saved his best game for the Grand Final wreaking havoc on Beenleigh.
9.      QUENTIN GREEN:  Tackles – 114;  Hit Ups – 115;  Tries – 5;  Goals – N/A                Greeny this year continued to take his game to new heights.  He has a huge motor that doesn’t stop until the final whistle is sounded.  His strength and speed has always been there but this year being our dummy half Quentin has worked hard on his passing and playmaking abilities and is now starting to become an all round player which is bad news for opposing teams.
10.  MITCH JOBSON:  Tackles – 102;  Hit Ups – 68;  Tries – 5; G Goals – N/A                     Part two of the red haired front rowers in the team            was a new player to the side this year but was another player that fitted in well with the team.  Mitch possesses a strong running game but also has good playmaking ability  for a big boy.  His commitment was underlined in the finals when he travelled from New South Wales the day before both the Major Semi and Grand Final.
11.  KYLE (SHANZO) KADEN:  Tackles – 139;  Hit Ups – 117;  Tries – 1;  Goals – N/A          The team clown in the side, Kyle this year backed up his cheekiness off the field with some really good footy on it.  He was one of the better players for the side and really stood up especially in the final series.
12.  JAI BURNS:  (CAPTAIN):  Tackles – 179;  Hit Ups – 87;  Tries – 3;  Goals – N/A             Skipper of the team Jai this year impressed with his leadership qualities when we needed someone to step up and calm the team down or pump the boys up Jai was there.  He has grown up heaps the last couple of years and is now a Premiership Winning Captain.
13.  CAM TAYLOR:  Tackles -149;   Hit Ups – 187;   Tries – 7;   Goals – 4                             Cam was another new player to the team this year.  A Rugby Union convert, Cam is another one of the larrikins of the team.  He kept the team laughing when the team needed a lift but when Cam crossed the white line and onto the field he transformed into a beast.  His competitiveness and his never say die attitude was  a huge asset to the team.
14.  SHANE WEBB:  Tackles – 72;  Hit Upe – 40;  Tries – 1;  Goals – N/A                          Shane was a big improver this year and he surprised us with his tackling and ball running improvement.   Usually a winger in our team Shane showed such improvement that at the latter stages of the year Shane was finding himself playing some minutes in the forwards.
15.  AARON TAYLOR:   Tackles – 98;  Hit Ups – 57;  Tries – 1;  Goals – N/A                       Azza is the Mr. Fix It in the team playing winger, centre and forwards.   A player that is a real asset to the team he has a great attitude and is one of the nicest blokes you would ever wish to meet.
16.  GREG TWORT:  Tackles – 89;   Hit Ups – 3;  Tries -  N/A;  Goals – N/A                       Greg is a true inspiration to the team.  He is a pleasure to coach.   I can’t say enough about Greg I’m so proud to say he was in my team this year.

COACHES REPORT
What an exciting first year of female footy for Straddie.  We had a couple of very enthusiastic young girls who put together our very first female football team.
This season was more of a trial so we only played against Beerwah and Bundaberg, but each game was as exciting as the first.  We were all  very nervous when we received the very first kick off from Beerwah (some girls having never played before) but by half time our girls led the way defeating Beerwah by high scores, and have done so with every other game.
We have a lot of talent in our girls and I am sure they will pursue their footy careers and follow through to the World of Women’s Rugby League.
A big thank you goes out to Corey who drove the bus and Tonia who did the stats for each game.  Your help is always appreciated.  Thanks to Jan Boys for organizing the season and thanks to the parents who came to the games and supported their girls.   Thanks also to our sponsors Ladbrooke Machinery Sales and Stradbroke Association of Oyster Farmers.
Next year will be bigger and better  and I hope you will  all return to show the world that women can play Rugby League.

THANKS
KIM

PLAYER’S REPORTS
AMY KARKLIS – GAMES 5;  TACKLES – 44;  HIT UPS – 27;  TRIES – 11;  GOALS – 6                              Amy was our Fullback and one of our most experienced players.  She was always there in attack and defense and was always exciting to watch.
TANEEKA PERRY – GAMES 5;  TACKLES – 14;  HIT UPS – 9;  TRIES – 1;  GOALS – N/A.         Taneeka was one of our wingers and although she started off a little shy and not confident, by game three she was tackling girls over the side line.  With a little encouragement Taneeka improved immensely with her tackling and ball skills.
ALANA ELISAIA – GAMES – 4;  TACKLES – 39;  HIT UPS – 24;  TRIES – 3;  GOALS – N/A.     Alana was one of our Backs and with a background of Touch Footy, her quick pick up skills came in handy.  She was always active on the field and very strong in defense.
NATIA BURNS -  GAMES – 3;  TACKLES – 10;  HIT UPS – 14;  TRIES –  NIL;  GOALS – N/A.      Natia was another one of our Backs and her first time for playing footy.  She made quite a few good breaks and was committed to having a good game of footy.
BREA TEERMAN – GAMES – 3;  TACKLES – 5;  HIT UPS – 4;  TRIES – 1;  GOALS – N/A.              Brea was our other Winger and another one of our experienced players.  Although starting late in the season, Brea was always eager to play and get out there and have fun.
KELSEY PARKIN -  GAMES – 5;  TACKLES – 73;  HIT UPS – 25;  TRIES – 4;  GOALS – N/A.               Kelsey was another experienced player who played 5/8.  Another exciting player to watch and always topped the tackle count.  Never short for words, Kelsey was one of the main organizers of the girls on and off the field.
CASEY KARKLIS – GAMES – 5;  TACKLES – 27;  HIT UPS – 73;  TRIES – 13;  GOALS – 35.            Like her twin sister Amy, Casey was always there in attack and defense.  Our Halfback, Casey scored and set up a lot of our tries.  She was also our goal kicker who kicked almost every goal.  She is very experienced and always exciting to watch.
MILLY COGHILL – GAMES – 3;  TACKLES – 6;  HIT UPS – 8;  TRIES – 1;  GOALS – N/A.               Milly our strong Front Row Forward was keen to push her way through in attack.  With a bit more commitment to training, I know Milly will excel and become more confident and become a much stronger player.
INDIA PACHNATZ – GAMES – 5;  TACKLES – 23;  HIT UPS – 12;  TRIES – 2;  GOALS – N/A.       India played a few positions this year and although she is small, she wasn’t afraid to get in and tackle the big girls.  She also had a lot of speed in her which showed in her magnificent run away try on the full time siren.  India was a dedicated player.
CELESTE PILGRIM – GAMES – 4;  TACKLES – 15;  HIT UPS – 20;  TRIES – NIL;  GOALS – N/A.    Celeste was our Second Rower and a first time footy player.  Another strong player Celeste was there hard and fast and always eager to push her way through.  I know Celeste will improve by each game she plays and hope to see her back next year.
OCE BOXALL -  GAMES – 4;  TACKLES – 14;  HIT UPS – 17;  TRIES – 11;  GOALS – N/A.              Our Speed Star Second Rower. What a runner. Any gap created, Oce was there and no-one would catch her.  Another exciting girl to watch, she excelled and ran in a lot of run away tries.  Another dedicated player.
STEPH BAYTON -  GAMES – 5;  TACKLES – 19;  HIT UPS – 31;  TRIES – 2;  GOALS – N/A.           Our giant of the team, and another first timer she certainly played her role of Front Row Forward.  Many of times Steph was unstoppable and her height was certainly an advantage.  Her confidence built with every game and she was a committed player.
MIRRI BURNS -  GAMES – 3;  TACKLES – 7;  HIT UPS – 5;  TRIES – 1;   GOALS -  N/A.                 Mirri was our other Back and was always excited to get out and please her home crowd.  She also got in hard and made a few good breaks.  Hope to see Mirri next year and be committed to play for our Straddie girls.
